Nutrition and Dietetics stands many things to many people and in an endeavour to define it. The process of nourishing or being nourished; especially the interrelated steps by which a living organism assimilates food and uses it for growth and for replacement of tissue is called nutrition and the study of diet and dieting as it relates to health and hygiene is called dietetics. Dietitians and nutritionists work in places such as schools and hospitals where they create nutrition programs and oversee the preparing and serving of meals. They educate people on healthy eating habits and conduct research to prevent and treat illnesses and to encourage healthy living.
Job Prospect :
As a career, hotels, cruise lines, hospitals, nursing homes and government health departments recruit nutrition and dietetics professionals for a good salary. If you join a shipping company such as Shell, Maersk or their subsidiary companies that run tourist ships along with logistics and oil et al., you would get the opportunity to travel to several countries situated along the shorelines.
